Retired while serving as a Combat Engineer Instructor with the 140th Regional Training Institute. Primary duties involved instructing an MOS qualification course using US Army courseware.
Tasks taught include:
- IED Detection and Defeat, Live Explosive Detonation, MOUT (Urban Warfare), Neutralization and Recognition of IEDs and Booby Traps, Mechanical, Ballistic, and Explosive Breaching, AN/PSS-14 Mine Detector Operations, etc.

- Awarded Instructor of the Cycle seven times. 1/140 Regional Training Institute Instructor of the Year. Competed in 2014 Army-Wide Instructor of the Year competition. Awarded Meritorious Service Medal, and two Army Commendation Medals.
Combat Engineer Team Leader Operation Iraqi Freedom (Aug. 2005- Nov. 2006)
C/110 Engineer Battalion as a Route Clearance Team Leader that was tasked with locating and disposing of Improvised Explosive Devices in a Platoon sized element, operating on several Main Supply Routes in the Baghdad area. This team was ultimately credited with locating and disposing of 87 Improvised Explosive Devices while conducting 181 combat missions.
